My Battle With Diabetes
This is about my uphill battle fighting Diabetes, and my journey to get a service dog and raising money to get her.

Hi my name is Jennifer. I have been fight Diabetes now for about 5 years. In this process My health has slowly gone down hill. I do my best to try to manage things. My body just does not like to cooperate. There are mornings I wake up and nothing stays down. I also have high blood pressure so I take several medications a day. I don’t go out as much and I am on the computer a lot. I would like to change that hoping that things can get better and I don’t feel like such a burden on my family.
I found a Nonprofit organisation called “Service Dog By Warren Retrievers”. We talked it over and thought it would be a good idea to acquire one of these dogs to help me. We have signed all the paper work and have started fundraising. Trying to get donations though has been an uphill climb. Most people seem more responsive to helping children than adults. That however does not make me at any less risk of death than anyone else. I have been in the hospital a few times due to a very nasty infection called Cellulitis. The Drs even discussed amputation if it had got into my blood stream. I can not fight off infections as well as people with a stronger immune system. A simple bug bite can cause the worse infection if I am not careful. Getting a service dog would be so helpful. it would take stress off my husband worrying about me so much and my kids too. My youngest daughter who is 18 is also at risk for becoming Diabetic so this would benefit her as well.
I also have a disease called P.C.O.S. ( Polly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome ). Polycystic ovarian syndrome is primarily a hormonal condition that affects multiple organ systems in the body. It is hard to diagnose partly because of the vast array of symptoms and the fact that the general medical community is misinformed about this disease This silent epidemic affects 10% of all women regardless of age. If PCOS is left untreated it can lead to endometrial cancer and hysterectomy of the uterus and ovaries, also you are at a higher risk of ovarian cancer. Diabetes... PCOS affects the glucose levels of the body causing insulin resistance. PCOS increases a woman’s risk of heart attack and stroke because it increases cholesterol and blood pressure. It is also one of the leading causes in infertility. It causes Endometrioses , cysts and early ovarian failure.

Spreading awareness about these diseases. Is part of why I wanted to share my story. The other being asking for help in acquiring A Diabetic alert dog. Theses dogs are amazing!! They can detect sugar levels 40 minutes before a meter can. They can tell you whether it is going high or low. I can take her anywhere I go and she would be a constant companion when I need her. This is something very important to me and my family. and any help is welcome. I also have a facebook page and a donar drive page.
