Phoenix Air Can Now Fly Drones Near Cartersville Airport

The company would be allowed to operate the unmanned aircraft devices within 5 nautical miles of the facility.

The Cartersville-Bartow County Airport Authority has approved an agreement to allow Phoenix Air to fly drones near the Cartersville Airport.

According to The Daily Tribune News, the authority on Tuesday unanimously approved an agreement to allow the company to fly drones within five nautical miles of the airport.

The approval allows the company to act on its plans to explore operating unmanned aerial systems. Phoenix Air plans to fly the drones on land located off Paga Mine Road, which is roughly three nautical miles from the airport, the newspaper reported.
