Police Identify Man Killed in I-75 Crash Near Adairsville

The Georgia State Patrol notes roads were slick Tuesday morning when the vehicle veered off the interstate, hit a tree and overturned.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA -- The Georgia State Patrol has released the identity of the man who was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 75 in Bartow County.

Jarod James Dillingham, a 25-year-old resident of Mears, Michigan, was traveling northbound in a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer around 6:37 a.m. near mile marker 305 when the SUV "left the east side of the roadway and struck a standing tree with its left front," according to a report released by the state agency.

After impact, the Blazer overturned, struck a fence and came to an uncontrolled stop on its wheels on the east side of the interstate, the report states.

The report notes Dillingham was not restrained in the SUV, and he was ejected from the vehicle. The report also notes conditions were cloudy and roads were wet at the time of the fatal collision.
