Police: Man Shoots Taser at Woman at Red Top Mountain
A 19-year-old woman riding a bicycle was nearly hit by Taser probes Tuesday morning while riding on the Iron Mountain Trail.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help the locate a suspect who allegedly tried to use a Taser on a woman at Red Top Mountain State Park.
On Tuesday around 10:17 a.m., the Bartow County E-911 Center received a call from a hiker regarding a 19-year-old woman who requested assistance on the Iron Mountain Trail located at the mountain, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
The woman, who was riding her bicycle along the trail, said as she was approaching a curve on the path, she noticed a yellow square object on top of a tree stump, which she thought was a Taser, and a man lying beside a fallen tree.

The woman heard a ”sound consistent with a Taser being deployed,” but was not struck by the probes. The connection wires, however, did land across her head and helmet, the sheriff’s office said.
The woman quickly freed herself from the wires and peddled to safety, the agency said. She was able to locate another hiker on the trail, who called for help.

The unknown male subject fled into the wooded area towards Red Top Estates. The male, who is described as white and possibly in his 40s, was wearing a green baseball cap and possibly camouflage.
Bartow authorities added the woman was with friends and family, but was not riding with them at the time of the incident.
This incident comes on the heels of a woman who was brutally attacked on the Silver Comet Trail last week in Paulding County.
