Police: Man Uses Knife To Rob Cartersville Gas Station

Cartersville, GA -- The Cartersville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store that took place Monday evening along a busy highway.

Officers responded to the Sunoco Gas Station at 700 Joe Frank Harris Parkway just after 8 p.m. Jan. 11 and met with an employee who recounted the incident.
According to the report released by the police department, a man wearing a black North Face jacket entered the store, pointed a large knife at the employee and demanded he hand over the money.

The man left the store with $60 and was last seen running towards Rolling Springs Road, police spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer said.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a mask, black sweat pants and purple Nike gloves. He also reportedly had tattoos on both wrists.
Bettikofer said there were no injuries during the incident.
