That’s according to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap, who released the information late Tuesday morning. Yolanda Cruz, 36, of Cartersville, died as a result of multiple stab wounds allegedly inflicted by fellow Cartersville resident Tiburcio Santana, 39, Millsap said.

The latest information has propelled Bartow sheriff’s investigators to now charge Santana with feticide in the death of the unborn child, along with the murder charge he faces in Cruz’s death.

Deputies responded to a call at a home at the Friendly Lane Mobile Home Park, which sits off Mac Johnson Road, just before 1 a.m. June 18. Deputies discovered the woman dead inside the home, Sgt. Jonathan Rogers previously told Patch.

Millsap states that Santana and Cruz were neighbors and the sheriff’s office received no prior reports of incidents at either home.

Santana remains incarcerated in the Bartow County Jail pending a superior court bond hearing. He is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement charge.
