The woman said she ”heard a male voice who yelled, ‘next time, I will get you’,” according to the report. The woman told the deputy she recognized the voice as belonging to Billy Eugene Westbrook, 74, and she was “scared to leave her residence due to Billy’s actions.”

The deputy went to Westbrook’s home, who initially said he shot a firecracker and did yell at his neighbor, but did not fire his gun.

The deputy observed a .380 bullet lying outside the front door, and once again asked Westbrook if he fired his gun.

“Billy then told me he shot his .380 handgun into the air and yelled...’Next time, I might get you’,” the deputy wrote. Westbrook later showed the deputy his handgun, which was inside his closet.

Westbrook was initially arrested on aggravated assault and misdemeanor reckless conduct charges and was booked into the Bartow County Jail.

However, Bartow County Magistrate Court Judge Joe Tatum noted ”he was not comfortable signing” an aggravated assault warrant, but did sign off on an terroristic threats and acts warrant, according to the report.
