Restaurant Inspections: Bug Inside Rice Container, Mold Buildup

The Bartow County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections June 13-20 at the following establishments:

• Observed potentially hazardous food (cucumbers, tomatoes, mashed potatoes, etc..) cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. CA: Food had not been out more than 4 hours, food was moved to the walk-in cooler to quickly cool down.
• Observed a bug in a container of rice in the dry storage area. CA: PIC discarded rice.
• Remarks: Discussed procedures for the bodily fluid clean-up kit. Discussed and provided form for time as a public health control. Will do a follow-up on line coolers.

• Observed mold buildup on can opener. CA: PIC cleaned can opener.
• Observed sanitizer solution not at minimum strength (0ppm). CA: PIC replaced sanitizer solution.
