Retired Bartow Deputy To Run For Sheriff

Adairsville resident Steve Holloway said he will run for the seat in 2016.

Steve Holloway, a long-time law enforcement officer, has announced plans to seek the Republican nomination to the Bartow County sheriff seat.

Holloway, who retired from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 after 20 years of service, stated one of his priorities would be to create a countywide task force to address Bartow’s crime rate.

One of his duties with the sheriff’s office included serving as a state certified crime scene investigator, with “successful investigations” into high profile crimes and death investigations, according to a press release.

Holloway also served as a field-training officer and a member of S.W.A.T.

After his retirement, Holloway opened the Adairsville Sporting Range where he serves as the lead instructor. Holloway was born and raised in Adairsville where he lives with his wife Andrea. They have one adult child, Nikki.

Volunteering in the community and church is an important part of his life and commitment to Bartow County, the candidate said.
