Motorists are also asked to use caution while driving through school zones and obey the posted 25 MPH speed limit. It may be beneficial to plan for more traffic congestion near schools as well, the system said.

“Our police department will be working in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies to ensure traffic flows as smoothly as possible,” Bartow County School System Police Chief Dan Knowles said. “However, due to the high volume of cars, there will be unavoidable delays. We ask that motorists be patient and watchful for children.”

Adairsville City Police will be assisting with traffic approaching Adairsville Elementary School. Emerson Elementary and South Central Middle schools’ traffic will be monitored by Emerson police officers.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office will manage the traffic near Hamilton Crossing and Mission Road elementary schools. Congestion around Cass, Woodland and Adairsville high schools will be directed by Bartow County Campus Police.
