Students Visit Chattahoochee Tech For Science Festival

From Chattahoochee Tech: Busloads of middle school students from across the state arrived at Chattahoochee Technical College’s North Metro Campus in Acworth on Friday, March 23, to attend “Science for EveryBODY: Bodies, Brains, and Bugs” – an event hosted by the college in conjunction with the Atlanta Science Festival, which runs through March 24.

The walk-through science exhibit on the North Metro Campus allowed students and their families to visit numerous display stations and learn about the inner workings of the human brain and supporting systems. Dozens of Chattahoochee Tech student volunteers were present to answer questions and assist participants with handling human anatomical models, investigate microscopic anatomy, and touch real, preserved specimens.

My favorite part of this event is seeing kids get excited about science and for the parents to see what Chattahoochee Tech has to offer,” said Chattahoochee Tech Biology Instructor Juanita Forrester. “We have really great faculty and we have awesome students.” “This event also helps us establish and reinforce partnerships with the middle schools,” said Forrester. “We can start having students and parents look at what we have to offer here at Chattahoochee Tech.”
