- Super Museum Sunday has free admission.

Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- On Sunday Feb. 5, the Etowah Indian Mounds and the Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum will be participating in Super Museum Sunday. Visitors to the Etowah Indian Mounds are invited to "participate in a guided tour of the mounds and observe a demonstration regarding the site's dugout canoe from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m." The Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum will be open from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and "features items representing the various communities and settlements from this area over time." - The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police has awarded the Cartersville Police Department a Meritorious Gold Award. This award honors the department "for maintaining 20 plus years of continuous state certification." (The Cartersville Police Department via Facebook)
- Feb. 6 begins Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services division chief and deputy EMA director Bruce King wants to remind us of the importance of being prepared for severe weather. "Knowing what to do prior to a storm or other emergency situation can literally save your life." Fire Station 1 is also giving free weather alert radios to Bartow County citizens during business hours. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
