Surveillance Photos Released in Cartersville Kangaroo Robbery

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident that occurred on Sept. 19 in unincorporated Cartersville.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help them identify the suspect accused to stealing a carton of cigarettes from a convenience store.

The agency late last week released surveillance photos from the Sept. 19 incident, which occurred inside Kangaroo Express at 5646 Highway 20 SE in unincorporated Cartersville.

The suspect entered the store just after 4:30 a.m. and after staying in the restroom for more than 20 minutes, “the man approached the counter after the clerk had stepped into an office,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

The man then ran behind the counter and grabbed a case of cigarettes.

“As he fled toward the front door, the clerk approached the counter and the man knocked her back with the cigarettes as he ran away from the store,” the agency added.

While the man never looks up into the camera, the agency noted the suspect appears to be a black male who is between 5’5” and 5’7” tall and weights between 150 and 175 pounds.
