Two Charged In String of Cartersville Burglaries, Thefts

Marvin Anthony Edwards and Tracy Darlene Lowe face over two dozen counts involving the burglaries of and thefts from various storage units.

Two residents have been arrested in connection with over two dozen burglaries, thefts and forgeries in the Cartersville area.

The Cartersville Police Department have charged Marvin Anthony Edwards, 36, of Taylorsville and Tracy Darlene Lowe, 36, of Cartersville after a ”lengthy investigation,” Chief Thomas Culpepper said on Tuesday.

Edwards faces 12 counts of burglary, six counts of theft by taking, three counts of forgery, 13 counts of criminal trespass, five counts of criminal damage to property and one count each of motor vehicle theft, theft by deception and obstruction.

Lowe has been charged with 10 counts of burglary, four counts of theft by taking, two counts of forgery and one count each of criminal trespass and theft by deception.

Both suspects were allegedly involved in the burglaries of and thefts from various storage units. The forgeries occurred as a result of passing stolen checks.

“The arrest of these two suspects is a good example of how a thorough investigation is able to link a suspect to multiple crimes,” Chief Culpepper stated. “I am very pleased with the work that was put into bringing closure to these incidents.”

Both suspects are being held in the Bartow County Jail and the case remains under investigation.
