Woman Shot During Drive-By Shooting in Cartersville
A man, woman and child were all inside a vehicle when a motorist pulled up beside them and fired a weapon into the car.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Detectives with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that left a woman injured Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to Cartersville Medical Center at 960 Joe Frank Harris Parkway around 6:44 p.m. Nov. 16 in reference to a shooting.
Deputies arrived on the scene and met with a man and woman who "were standing by in their vehicle outside the building," the agency said in a press release.

The woman, who had "extensive injuries," was rushed into the hospital's emergency room for treatment. A juvenile who was in the car during the incident was not injured.
According to the sheriff's office, the male driver said he was traveling along Mac Johnson Road approaching its intersection with Cassville Road when he noticed a black passenger vehicle approach his car from behind.

The car passed the victim's vehicle on the driver's side, which was when things turned violent, the sheriff's office said.
"The male victim reported hearing multiple gun shots, his vehicle being struck with bullets and glass breaking," according to the press release.
The black passenger vehicle continued through the intersection and was last seen traveling north on Cassville Road.
The man noticed his female passenger, who was sitting in the front seat, had been shot and "rushed her to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment," the sheriff's office added.
The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Bartow County Sheriff's Office at 770-382-5050 ext. 6015.
