Woman Suffers Burns When Can Explodes In Fire
The 59-year-old resident suffered second- and third-degree burns to her face, neck, torso and arms.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA -- A woman was rushed to the hospital Tuesday evening after she was burned by a can that exploded in a fire.
Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services and Bartow County Fire Department responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at a home off Anchor Road in unincorporated Acworth.
First responders arrived on the scene to find a woman, 59, suffering from second and third-degree burns to her face, neck, torso and arms, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Cothran said bystanders informed EMS personnel that the woman was possibly burned by an exploding can that was in a fire, which "covered the patient in a hot liquid."
EMS crews requested an air life ambulance for transport to a burn center. Those crews then transported the woman to a landing zone at the Blockhouse Boat Ramp where she was placed into the helicopter and flown to an area hospital for treatment.
