• Teen Answered Craigslist Ad in 2016, Then Endured Hours of Horror. Now a Man Is Charged with Rape, Kidnapping (people.com) — A man has been indicted in connection with a 2016 case where a 19-year-old was allegedly lured to a Clarkston apartment by a fake Craigslist babysitting job and then held and raped. Investigators say DNA from the Clarkston rape kit links the suspect to two other Georgia assaults, and they’re urging anyone with information or similar experiences to contact the DeKalb County district attorney’s tip line. 
• Fulbright Award Takes Georgia State Graduate Student to Turkey (gsu.edu) — Georgia State graduate student Nasra Farah Qasim, who recently worked with English learners at the university’s Clarkston Campus, has begun a Fulbright English teaching assistantship in Turkey. Her time in Clarkston classrooms, along with mentoring from Fulbright alumni at Georgia State, helped shape her application and long-term plans in international language education.
