24th Annual Memorial Day Parade in Dacula

The deadline for participating in the 24th Annual Dacula Memorial Day parade in Dacula is fast approaching. The deadline for getting your entry into this year’s parade is Friday, May 19, 2017. Your completed entry form and fee (if applicable) must be postmarked no later than midnight on May 19, 2017 to be accepted. No Exceptions! The theme for this year’s parade is “Price of Freedom”.

Once again there will be a C-130 aerial flyover to begin the 24th Annual Memorial Day parade! The flyover will be conducted by the 94th Airlift Wing out of Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Marietta, GA.

The parade steps off promptly at 10:00 a.m., rain or shine, on Monday, May 29, 2017 from Hebron Baptist Church located at 202 Hebron Church Road and proceeds down Dacula Road toward historic downtown Dacula.

The 24th Annual Dacula Memorial Day parade is one of the most high profile events in the metro Atlanta area on Memorial Day. It is important that we take this opportunity to honor the sacrifices made by thousands of Americans who died guarding our precious liberties and way of life. Our goal is to promote patriotism and see that today’s youth understand the significance, importance and meaning of Memorial Day.

Founded by Marvin Atherton, the Dacula Memorial Day parade has been a proud tradition in Dacula since 1994. The parade has grown over the years and remains the only Memorial Day parade in the metro Atlanta area, largest in the state of Georgia and one of the largest in our nation with more than 150 units participating in the parade each year. More than 10,000 spectators line Dacula’s streets to watch the parade.
