Abernethy Funeral Service Held Saturday

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Patricia Anne “Pat” Abernethy, age 59 of Dacula died Wednesday, Aug. 31 after an extended illness.

The memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 3 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Greg Porterfield officiated.

Pat is survived by her husband, Tim Abernethy of Dacula; children: Sean Shaikun and wife Jenn of Athens, Rachel Holder and husband Justin of Auburn and Jonathan Abernethy of Dacula; mother Anna Philpott of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren: Anna Shaikun, Shepherd Shaikun, Jack Holder and Gabriel Holder; brothers and sisters Kathie Zehnder of Lousville, Ky., Linda Smialek of Louisville, Ky., Robert Philpott of Andover, Mass., David Philpott of New Brunsville, Texas and Donald Lynch of Louisville, Ky.

Pat was a native of Louisville, Ky. She had lived in metro Atlanta the past 26 years. She was employed as a buyer with Rite Aid Pharmacy and was a member of Sixes United Methodist Church in Canton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org in Memory of Pat Abernethy.
