Marvin Atherton, Founder of Memorial Day in Dacula, is proud to announce that there will be an aerial flyover at this year’s 22nd Annual Memorial Day parade! Not any ordinary flyover either! This will be a C-130 flyover conducted by the 94th Airlift Wing and the 700th Airlift Squadron out of Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Marietta, GA.
The flyover will commence at 10:00 a.m. as Dacula resident, Miss Katie Wolf proudly sings our National Anthem at Fire Station 16 on Dacula Road just prior to the start of the parade. This is a first for Dacula so you will not want to miss it!

The 22nd Annual Dacula Memorial Day parade is Monday, May 25, 2015. The parade is rain or shine. The parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. from Hebron Baptist Church, proceed down Dacula Road towards Dacula Park, turning right on Second Ave. and ending at Dacula High School.
The theme of this year’s parade is “They Gave Their Lives to Protect Their Country.” The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Charles G. Mitchell of Lawrenceville.
The parade features the Fallen Heroes of Georgia, Veterans, VFW, Patriot Guard Riders, restored and present day military vehicles, Scouts, Churches, Community groups and organizations, antique cars, trucks, tractors, horses, the official Wells Fargo stagecoach, local businesses and much, much more!
The Dacula Memorial Day parade has been a proud tradition in Dacula since 1994. The parade remains the only Memorial Day parade in Metro Atlanta, largest in the state of Georgia and one of the largest in our nation! The parade typically attracts 10,000 to 12,000 spectators that line the streets of Dacula to honor our Veterans.
So, on this Memorial Day, grab the lawn chairs, load up the family and come be a part of an ongoing tradition in Dacula to join us for the 22nd Annual Dacula Memorial Day parade and C-130 flyover honoring and remembering those men and women that served and gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.
