There is a rising star in MCAA Football. He is 12-year-old Alan Andrzejewski, and plays for Coach Governale on the Mill Creek Hawks 12-year-old team.
It all started back in August 2012 after the season opening game. Mill Creek won the game but had nobody to kick the extra point after the touchdowns they made. This is an important part of the game because if an extra point is made by kicking it, it is worth two points at this age.
During the ride home Alan told his parents that he could kick the extra points. Alan played soccer for five years, and was confident, with practice, he could kick field goals/extra points. The next day Alan spent hours practicing field goals at the practice field. Alan’s Dad, and older brother (T.J.) searched YouTube videos to learn how to kick field goals. They also were new to kicking field goals. T.J. played soccer for many years, and was able to assist Alan with kicking field goals by soccer kicking the ball, and not toe kicking it.

Alan would spend 2-3 hours every Sunday at the practice field kicking. On the days he has practice, (three days a week) he would get to the practice field almost 2 hours early to practice field goals.
Coach Governale saw Alan practicing many days before practice and began using him at that position during practice. Four weeks later Alan was kicking for the team.

He has kicked in the last three games, and has made 10 out of 12 attempts.
His furthest kick during practice was 30 yards, and he is showing great improvement.
Coach Governale has been very supportive, and introduced Alan to Josh Weaver, who is a former college kicker. Josh trains with Alan twice a week with his kicking, and will continue training him during the off season.
Alan is a rising athletic star in Gwinnett County MCAA Football – Mill Creek.
The best part of this story is, with all his practices, training, and games; he is still maintaining As & Bs in school. His goal is straight As.
