Australian pastors officially launch brand new Influencers Church campus in Atlanta next month
Atlanta, Oct.
15, 2012 – Influencers Church, the sister ministry of world-renowned Hillsong,
is launching a brand new campus right here in Atlanta! The official launch of
Influencers Church Atlanta is on Sunday, November 4th at 10 a.m. at the
Gwinnett Convention Center and will include a service for adults as well as
separate ministries for children and youth.
The pastors,
Ashley and Jane Evans, a husband-and-wife team from Adelaide, Australia, are
taking a leap of faith and making Atlanta GA the new home of Influencers Church
after having built of a large ministry of over 16,000 members in their home
town.
Their goal in coming to the United States – and to Georgia’s
capital in particular – is about more than just planting another church. Pastor
Ashley says it was a calling God placed on their hearts to turn their global
ministry – with campuses in Australia, Perth, and South Africa – into a church
home for many in the local community who haven’t yet found their place.

“We are a global church, without a doubt,” says Pastor
Ashley, “but we are personal, too. You’re not going to come to our church and
just see me on stage. I’ll be at the door, ready to greet you along with my
wife and our family, because that’s where church starts. It starts with getting
to know people and letting them know they’re welcomed, no matter what they look
like, what they’ve done, or where they come from.”
So far, the people of Atlanta have welcomed the Australian
ministry. In June, Pastor Ashley and his wife, Jane, launched a local
television program called “Nothing is Impossible” and, in the last two months,
they’ve hosted two preview services for Influencers Church Atlanta where they
have already established a following.

“We had about one-hundred and fifty people turn out for the
first preview service,” says Pastor Ashley, “which was really incredible when
you realize that we’ve only been in the States for a few short months. But then
twice that many showed up for the second preview service and some of them even
came back to volunteer! We were really blown away by how excited people were to
be a part of this ministry.”
“We want people in
this city to know that they don’t have to fit a particular mold to want to be a
part of a community,” says Pastor Ashley. “All they need is a heart for Christ
and a heart for His people. We didn’t want to just start another church. We
wanted to help people understand they can make a change in the world. They can
influence others in powerful, positive ways. And they don’t have to do it
alone.”
