New Principal Named for Puckett's Mill ES and Former Dacula Teacher to Lead Suwanee ES

Students at Puckett's Mill Elementary will soon have a new principal.

Ms. Ruth Westbrooks, who most recently served as an assistant principal at Partee Elementary, has been selected as the new principal of Puckett's Mill. 

Westbrooks also serves as a literacy coach and first grade teacher at Simonton Elementary and a kindergarten teacher at Head Elementary. Prior to joining Gwinnett County Public Schools, Westbrooks was a teacher and director of the Mother's Morning Out program at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church.

Westbrooks obtained her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Georgia State University, her master's degree in reading and literacy from Walden Univesrity and her certification in educational leadership from the University of West Georgia.

Westbrooks is also a member of the GCPS 2013 Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program.

Current Puckett's Mill principal Michelle Farmer is transferring to the Division of Human Resources as Director of Leadership Development.

Suwanee Elementary will also be getting a new principal -- former Dacula Middle School teacher Dr. Michele Smith. Smith taught sixth grade language arts at Dacula Middle School from 2001 to 2005. Smith is also a member of the GCPS 2013 Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program.
