Arrested: Man Who Allegedly Ran Over Motorcyclist Lying in Roadway

Gwinnett Police said an Auburn man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed Scott Moseley on July 26.

Gwinnett Police have arrested the man they believe struck and killed a fallen motorcyclist in a hit-and-run accident last month near Buford.

Jacob O’Reilly, 24, of Auburn, faces a list of charges, including vehicular homicide, stemming from the July 26 accident on Gravel Springs Road (Ga. Hwy 324) at Camp Branch Road, where he allegedly ran over Scott Moseley, 24. Moseley had been lying injured in the road after he wrecked his motorcycle around 1 a.m.

Police said witness accounts and evidence indicated a second vehicle struck and killed him, then drove away.

He is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County jail.

Investigators believe Moseley was making a left turn from southbound Camp Branch Road onto Gravel Springs Road when he struck the median, and was ejected off his motorcycle. This is an area in unincorporated Gwinnett County located east of the Mall of Georgia and just north of Interstate 85.

Moseley was struck while lying in the roadway; he died from the second collision, police said.
