Cooler Week Ahead
Last week we were running 10-15 degrees above normal while this week we cool back down to normal or even slightly below.

What a difference a week makes. Last week we were running 10-15 degrees above normal while this week we cool back down to normal or even slightly below. But still no exciting weather to report. So far spring hasn't brought too much in the way of severe weather or rainfall for us. Our rainfall totals here at DaculaWeather.com are running almost 4" below normal for the year so far and we desperately need some rainfall before we head into the summer months. The latest Drought Monitor map shows almost 60 percent of the state is extreme or exceptional drought levels.
March is officially the warmest March ever recorded at all four major reporting stations under the Peachtree City NWS office, Atlanta, Athens, Columbus, and Macon. Not only did Atlanta beat the old record, it beat it by being a whopping 11.3 degrees above average, while the old record (set in 1945) was only 8.6 degrees above average.
And we're not starting off good for April either. Here at DaculaWeather.com, we've averaged 62.4 degrees over the last four Aprils, so far this April we're averaging 65.6 degrees and we're only a week into the month.
For you gardeners out there, we have a new page for you. The USDA has recently released new growing zone maps for the entire country, and you can view some of those here.
