From Tears to Cheers!

Mill Creek's Prom that didn't make the evening news :)

This .  My daughter Caroline Renner, a junior from , was disappointed when she heard the news Wednesday evening that her date to the prom was to play a quarterfinal lacrosse game Saturday night at 7:45 (St. Pius vs. Lambert).

After many tears were shed, she decided to make the best of a bad situation. Andrew agreed to dress up in his tuxedo before the game and take pictures with Caroline. Then Andrew would go off to the game while Caroline went out to eat with friends only to meet Andrew for the last 30 minutes of prom which took place at the Gwinnett Arena.

What Andrew didn't know is that Caroline had a planned surprise.  Caroline and devoted girlfriend Hope Douds worked hard Friday night making posters reading "Mill Creek brought the Prom to YOU!"  and the other reading "Win the game and Go Andrew." After eating out, Caroline and a small group of friends drove up to Lambert High School and crashed the game. They let them through the gates of the game without paying after hearing about the story. The group showed up at the lacrosse game to support Andrew in their prom dresses and tuxedos! Andrew made it to the prom for the last 30 minutes and he and Caroline were able to dance the last dance.
