Whereas, Manufacturers in Georgia account for 10.6 percent of the total output in the state, employing 9 percent of the workforce; and

Whereas, there are nearly 9,500 manufacturing facilities provide jobs for 350,000 Georgians; and

Whereas, Manufacturing employees’ average compensation is 19% higher than workers in non-manufacturing industries; and


Whereas, the average Georgia consumer cannot identify three products that are manufactured in our state; and


Whereas, there is no formal day to highlight the products that are manufactured in Georgia; and


Whereas, consumers prefer to buy locally manufactured products and need to become educated about products that are manufactured in Georgia; therefore, be it


RESOLVED by the 7th District Republican Party of Georgia that:
 
The June 8th 2013 be recognized as Georgia Manufactured Products Consumer Education Day


Many Georgia Manufacturing companies and the goods they produce will be on display at the Gwinnett Center from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission tickets are available for free while supplies last at http://www.GeorgiaManufacturingExpo.com
