Rain, Rain and More Rain Heading Our Way

Have you built that ark yet?

As I mentioned in my earlier post, the forecast has been showing rain beginning during the day on Saturday and continuing through part of next week. The Atlanta NWS office had this to say in their 3:47pm AFD update:
http://www.daculaweather.com/4_afd_ffc.php

HAVE GENERALLY GONE WITH 2-2.5 INCHES ACROSS THE FAR NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA... WITH 1.5-2 INCHES ACROSS THE ATL AND AHN METRO AREAS...AND 1-1.5 INCHES ELSEWHERE. THIS AMOUNT OF RAINFALL... ESPECIALLY ACROSS FAR NORTH GEORGIA... COULD PRODUCE MINOR FLOODING... ESPECIALLY IN FLOOD PRONE OR LOW LYING AREAS.

The WPC is showing almost 4 inches over north Georgia over the next seven days. I have several loops that show the precip amounts and chances each day. The WPC is even showing 6-7 inches across north Georgia on their experimental QPF 7 days forecast:

I also have what they call meteograms. Meteograms are hour by hour forecast for the next day or two. Some people like them, but I find thy generally are not all that accurate. They are generally based solely off of the GFS forecast, much like the Weather Channel forecast. Never the less, here is a page with meteograms for Atlanta, the surrounding area, and upstream sites. The reason I bring these up is because the weekend won't be a total washout, the rain will come and go, but when it's here, it could come down at a pretty good clip. So this link may possibly help in deciding when it may rain:
