An area of showers is moving into our area (6:24am) and the chance for showers will linger through the afternoon. Our neighbors in Alabama are getting hammered this morning and radar estimates show some areas receiving 6-7" of rain, with a few getting 4" in a 3 hour period. A few of the cells in Alabama have reached 58kft in height, or more than 10 miles high.
The main threat from the storms today will be damaging winds, large hail, and lots of lightning. All of this activity will transition south over the course of the day.
