Forget Outdoor Activities, Rainy Weekend Ahead

Rain and below normal temps today and tomorrow.

Nice way to wake up on a Saturday, listening to the distant rumble of thunder while the rain is tapping on your roof telling you to stay in bed a little longer.

If you follow the rain's directions, you'll probably be laying in bed 'til tomorrow. The rain has arrived again and it's going to make for a very cool, wet, dreary weekend. Forget outdoor activities, time for the spring indoor projects today and most of tomorrow.

Depending on how far the warm front advances toward our area, there may or may not be severe weather. As it is now, the worst of that weather should remain to our south.

I know no one wants to hear anything else about winter precipitation ... after being burned all winter long there is no reason to expect any less now. So... with that being said, here's what the Atlanta NWS had to say:

WRAP AROUND MOISTURE...OROGRAPHIC LIFT AND STRONG MID LEVEL ENERGY WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE PRECIP ACROSS NORTHERN GA SUNDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. BUFKIT SOUNDINGS FOR THE NE SHOW THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE HIGHEST TERRAIN... WITH SOME RAIN/SNOW MIX ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS UP NORTH SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. ANY ACCUMULATIONS WOULD BE LIGHT AND MAINLY CONFINED TO THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS. NW WINDS MAY APPROACH WIND ADVISORY CRITERIA ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. ANOTHER STRONG MID LEVEL SYSTEM/SHEAR AXIS SWINGS THROUGH ON TUESDAY. TEMPS SHOULD BE MOSTLY WARM ENOUGH FOR ALL RAIN DURING THE DAY. IF THE SYSTEM IS SLOWER THAN PROGGED...PRECIP MAY NEED TO BE ADDED FOR TUESDAY NIGHT AND PTYPE WILL PROBABLY BE A WINTRY MIX AGAIN.

So that means rain. Anyone ready for spring?
