The two-story home located on a cul-de-sac was a total loss. The fire caused significant collapse of the first and second floors into the basement, Rutledge said.
A family dog was rescued by firefighters. The pet sustained slight burns and was taken to a local animal hospital, Rutledge said.
The large fire started several small fires in the yards of neighboring homes. “Firefighters quickly went to work battling the blaze and performed aggressively to protect nearby exposures from radiant heat and floating hot embers,” Rutledge said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
