Not exactly the inside look advertised but some insight nonetheless. It's a family story of the Romeys as Mitt runs for the White House, twice. The real pols are largely in cameo as the family frets, plays, texts and prays their way through the 2008 campaign against John McCain and then against Obama in 2012. A lot of hugging and "you can do it dad" hoorah but the candor goes out the window when VP candidate Paul Ryan approaches Mitt on the campaign plane with a few harsh words for their opponents only to be quickly silenced by the boss who motions over his shoulder toward the camera. "Oh yea" says Ryan as he looks directly into the lens, "I forgot about them". All in all though a good flick about real people who go all in for their favorite guy. Bittersweet ending...Mitt and Ann say a final goodbye to their Secret Service detail and enter the house alone to gaze silently out a large window on a sweeping horizon, left with their thoughts of what might have been. Gotta love 'em.
