Dacula-Area Crime: Ex-Boyfriend May Have Stolen $1,000 in Jewelry

A Dacula-area woman told Gwinnett Police she thinks her sisterβs ex stole jewelry out of her bedroom and pawned the loot before leaving town.
According to a Gwinnett County incident report dated Oct. 7, the woman said she lives with her mother on Tama Hill Court near Auburn, where she discovered the jewelry β a gold chain and two gold/diamond rings (toal value $1,000) β was missing.
The items were taken between Friday night, Oct. 3 and Saturday morning, Oct. 4.

The daughter told police she thinks the ex-boyfriend broke in, stole the jewelry hidden in her bedroom,Β then sold it before leaving for Mississippi.
The police noted there were no signs of forced entry, but the daughter said she believes the ex-boyfriend knew how to pick the lock to the door leading into the house from the garage.
