Dacula Cook of the Week: Wendy Jones

This week's featured cook shares a cool treat!

This week's Dacula cook is Wendy Jones. Jones, who lives in the Hamilton Mill subdivision, shares her recipe for Ice Cream Cake.

“This Ice Cream Cake is a big crowd pleaser,” Jones wrote in an email to Dacula Patch. “It is easy to make and you can make it ahead of time.”

“It’s one of my favorites because I’m an ice cream lover,” Jones wrote. “It is a unique dessert that I had never had before.”

Wendy Jones has a great idea for a cake topping.

“I save a little bit of the cookie/candy mixture to sprinkle on top.” Jones said. “That way people know what’s in it, and it looks pretty!”

Jones also has a few helpful tips for serving the Ice Cream Cake.

“Use a knife to cut apart the ice cream from the pan before serving.” She suggests. “I always serve it on a large tray so when it melts it does not make a big mess."
