Dacula Couple Celebrate 70 Years Of Marriage: Report

DACULA, GA — Here’s a heartwarming story worth sharing this Valentine’s Day. A Dacula couple who currently live in Arbor Terrace Hamilton Mill Senior Living Community are celebrating 70 years of marriage, reported WAGA-TV.

Wendell and Nancy Davis told the station that the relationship started completely platonic at 11 and 13 years old.

The dynamic quickly changed, however, when Nancy attended a game

Wendell was playing in Minor League Baseball, reported the station.

“I was going to spring training tomorrow in Springfield, Missouri,” Wendell told WAGA-TV. “And I asked her to go steady, and she said ‘Well Springfield is a long ways away.’ And I said 'But I'll write every day.' And I did," he said.

They married in 1952.
