Dacula Development Would Bring Homes, Apartments, Stores and More
It would cover 66 acres at Jim Moore Road and Hamilton Mill Parkway.
DACULA, GA — A proposed development in the Dacula area would bring dozens of new homes -- and possibly a church and a school -- to the area.
Gwinnett County's planning commission is set to consider the rezoning that would pave the way for the development at its next meeting on Tuesday, October 4.
The project, by developer BJM Properties LLC, would cover 66 acres at Jim Moore Road and Hamilton Mill Parkway.

As proposed, it would bring 74 single-family homes, 12 townhomes and 30,000 square feet of retail and office space to the area.
Plans also include the relocation of a private school and a church to the development, according to plans submitted to the planning commission.

The property is currently zoned for a senior-living community. It was rezoned that way in 2006, but the facility was never built.
If approved by the planning commission, the development would still need to go before the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners for final approval.
