Robert D. Peevy, 84 of Hoschton passed away Sunday July 17 after a prolonged illness.
As a Baptist minister, Reverend Peevy served as pastor for Collins Hill Baptist in Lawrenceville, Sharon Baptist in Hoschton, and Ivy Creek Baptist in Buford. He also served as interim pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist in Lawrenceville.

As a pattern maker by trade, he worked for E.V. Camp's Steelworks in Atlanta and Townley Engineering and Manufacturing in Ocala, Fla. He resided in Gwinnett County most of his life, moving to Jackson County after retirement.
He was an avid gardener. He loved to spend time outside enjoying God's handiwork. Woodworking was also a gift of his and he enjoyed creating many projects over the years for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Chatham Peevy; sons and daughters-in-Iaw: Wayne and Valorie Peevy of Hoschton and Mike and Susan Peevy of Buford; grandchildren: Kim Pendley, Jon and Tiffany Peevy, Amber Peevy, Brandon and Christy Peevy; great grandchildren: Jacob Pendley, Bradley, Bailey, Linsey and Gracie Peevy, Riley, Haley and Rachael Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law: Willie Ruth and Holland Burnette, Gwen and Jack Leach, Opal Parks, J.W. Griffin; sisters-in-law: Grace Stephens, Geneva Taylor and Charlotte Towler and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin C. and Lois Allen Peevy and sisters, Dorothy Reynolds, Sue Griffin and Barbara Emmerson.
Reverend Peevy was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford.
The family will receive family and friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford. Dr. Jim Ferguson and Reverend Craig Dale will officiate. Interment will be at Gwinnett Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceville.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send donations to Ivy Creek Baptist Church-Building Fund, 2500 Ivy Creek Rd., Buford, Georgia, or Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia.

Mrs. Isabelle Marie McNeal, age 81, of Braselton, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011.
