Dacula Sunday Sales Vote Delayed

City council to consider issue at June meeting.

Dacula citizens will have to wait another month to learn whether or not Sunday sales and Sunday sales of liquor by the drink will be on the November ballot.

During the April 28 work session,  in the fall and planned to vote on the ballot items during the May 5 council meeting. However, before the council can vote on the measures, the city attorney must determine how the referendums will be worded on the ballot. Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks said the vote has been delayed until June in order to allow city attorney Dennis Still enough time to provide the proper wording.

Only two items of new business are on the Thursday night agenda. Council is scheduled to vote on an amendment to the 2000 City of Dacula development regulations and will appoint a voting delegate for the annual membership business meeting of the 2011 Georgia Municipal Association annual convention.

The council meets at , located at 442 Harbins Road in Dacula. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
