Did You Know That Almost All Yogurts Are Bad For Your Waistline?

The popular belief is that we should skip those really tasty cookies, and other sweet deserts and opt for the yogurt, especially "light" yogurt.  The problem is that most "light" yogurts are loaded with artificial sweeteners and/or high fructose corn syrup.  High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is one of the worst foods you could ever consume.  HFCS is made from genetically modified corn, spikes blood sugar and insulin.  Artificial sweeteners are chemically altered, with man made ingredients that play havoc with our bodies. 
     Unfortunately, most of us have bought into the calorie counting food selection criteria, regardless of the contents of the food.  Lower calories are better, right?  Not if the product contains ingredients that are really harmful to our body.  The next choice people make is going for the "fat free" yogurts.  Hopefully, we are making progress in getting the facts out that fat isn't "bad".  Fat is a crucial nutrient to both your health and fat loss efforts and helps to naturally stabilize many important hormones, plus plays a role in optimizing our body's fat-burning environment.  Most "fat free" yogurts are LOADED with sugar or HFCS, especially those with "fruit on the bottom".
     Is there any yogurt that is good for us?  I suggest Organic Plain Greek Yogurt.  Greek yogurt has double the protein of regular yogurt and without the added sugars and artificial ingredients.  By going organic, you will avoid the hormones, and antibiotics that are otherwise generally injected in the typical cow.  Till next time.
