Embrace Your Artistic Side at Weekend Festival

Georgia Piedmont Arts Center to host "Harvest of Art" festival this Saturday in Auburn.

Do you have artistic aspirations?

Consider participating in a free mini art lesson during this weekend’s , hosted by the Georgia Piedmont Arts Center.

Participants will have three different lessons to choose from during Saturday’s event -- pastels, cartooning and watercolor painting.

Lessons in pastels will be taught by Joan Duffey at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Renee Hewitt will offer mini lessons in watercolor painting at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Children can also participate in the day’s activities. Rebecca McCartt will lead a free “up-cycling” art activity for the younger festival-goers.

There will be several art demonstrations throughout the day including . Mildred Threadgill will demonstrate painting with melted crayons at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

The Harvest of Art festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Auburn art cottage at 1396 Third Ave. in Auburn. The event will offer fine art and fine crafts, complemented by food and musical entertainment.
