Family Dog Rescued from Dacula House Fire

No one was injured in the Friday fire on Mitford Lane, but the home sustained significant damage.

Firefighters reunited a family with its pet dog at the scene of a noontime house fire Friday in Dacula.

Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the dog, which was in the house during the blaze, was found unharmed by search crews. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Rutledge said the two-story wood home in the 900 block of Mitford Lane sustained major damage to the garage and to the floor system. A pickup truck located outside also was burned out, and the flames reached into the attic and sent smoke throughout the house.
