Football Playoffs: Archer High Favored to Reach State Semifinals
The Tigers host Hillgrove Friday in the Class 6A quarterfinals

The Archer High School football program has made remarkable progress since the school opened in 2009, and if one prediction is accurate, the Tigers will be one step closer to its first state championship.
Archer, which drew students from Dacula and Grayson high schools and has students from both communities, hosts Hillgrove Friday in the Georgia High School Association Class 6A quarterfinals. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Both teams are 9-3.
According to Georgia High School Football Daily, Archer is an 11-point favorite by the Maxwell Ratings to win the game and face the Newton/Etowah winner in the semifinals. Last year, the Tigers went 11-1 and lost in the second round.
