Funeral for Mill Creek Student Set for Wednesday

Lucas Robert Nichols, 15, of Dacula, passed away on Friday, Sept. 2, of apparent heart failure.

Lucas was born May 3, 1996 in Anderson, S.C. and attended Mill Creek High School. He is survived by his mother, and stepfather, Tonya and Rick Galway of Dacula; father and stepmother, Robert and Tammy Nichols of Anderson, S.C.; sister and brother, Emily and Shayne Nichols of Dacula, Ga.; grandparents, Kathy Franks, and Bob and Becky Nichols of Fairmont, W.V., Richard Galway, Sr., and John and Elaine Byers of Greenville, S.C.; great-grandparents, Evelyn Rumble of Fairmont, W.V., Jack Galway of Florida, and Betty Thompson of Greenville, S.C.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, 3481 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford. Pastor Ron Blackburn will officiate. Interment will be at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-3 p.m.
