Georgia Power Names New Metro North Region Manager

Doug Jenkins to oversee operations in Gwinnett, Forsyth, northern DeKalb and Fulton Counties

Georgia Power announced today that the company has named Doug Jenkins as Metro North Region Manager for Georgia Power. In this role, Jenkins will lead region operations sales, customer service, economic and community development and external affairs activities for 327,000 Georgia Power customers in an area that includes Gwinnett, Forsyth, north Fulton and north DeKalb counties.

“I’m very excited about this new opportunity to serve our customers throughout north metro Atlanta,” said Jenkins. “I look forward to working with our employees throughout the region to continue a culture of excellence in operations and customer service and cultivate strong working relationships with business, community and civic leaders.”

Prior to assuming his new role, Jenkins served as assistant to Georgia Power’s Executive Vice President of Customer Service & Operations. In this capacity, he worked with the executive team to develop and implement the strategies for the company’s customer service, operations and maintenance efforts. Since joining the company in 1987 as a co-op student, Jenkins has held positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in region operations, engineering, key account management, customer service and sales, including Customer Choice Manager where he led the company’s efforts to secure the business of large customers who have a choice of power suppliers,

Jenkins holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA in finance from Georgia State University.
