Giving Tuesday 2017: 25 Gwinnett County Nonprofits To Support
On a day designed to give back, here are just a few of the local organizations working to help the community.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — If you loaded up on purchases on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, maybe you're thinking about giving something back. If so, welcome to Giving Tuesday.
The special day is a relatively new observance meant to remind folks about the meaning of the season. This is the sixth Giving Tuesday, which the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y in New York City created in 2012 to "[connect] diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving."
Last year, Giving Tuesday raised about $168 million for hundreds of charities. However, there are some reports that the charitable holiday is better for bigger charities than small ones.

This year, the Seattle-based Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook will match up to $2 million in donations. While #GivingTuesday is celebrated around the world, there are plenty of Gwinnett County organizations working to improve the community. And they need your support.
Giving Tuesday is by no means limited to participating nonprofits. And our list here is not exhaustive. But hopefully it will help get you started thinking about how to give back this holiday season.
