Gwinnett Commission Picks Rep For 'Racist Pig' Ethics Panel
Commissioner Tommy Hunter was not present for the 4-0 vote.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Gwinnett County Commission has named its representative to serve on the ethics panel reviewing one of its own.
Former Georgia Power official Herman Pennamon, Jr., will serve on the panel hearing a citizen's ethics complaint against Commissioner Tommy Hunter, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.
On his private Facebook page, Hunter called U.S. Rep. John Lewis a "racist pig" and used derogatory language toward Democrats, calling them "Demonrats" and "libtards."

The Board of Commissioners selected Pennamon in a 4-0 vote on Tuesday. Hunter was not present for the vote.
"He’s been active in the community for a long time," board Chairwoman Charlotte Nash said of Pennamon. "He loves Gwinnett County and is a fair-minded individual."

The panel now is two members away from being filled. Under county law, it will be made up of members appointed by District Attorney Danny Porter, the president of the Gwinnett Bar Association, a county commissioner from outside Gwinnett and someone chosen by Hunter himself.
Porter appointed Terri Duncan and the bar association appointed David C. Will. Neither Hunter nor the Association of County Commissioners (of) Georgia have made their picks yet.
