Gwinnett Police: Man Found Shot to Death in Driveway

Gwinnett Police are investigating the shooting death of a man who was found with “apparent gunshot wounds” in the driveway Saturday

Police spokesman Sgt. Brian Doan said in a press alert emailed at 11:21 p.m. Saturday that Brian Whitfield, 45, was dead at the scene at 1735 Flowery Branch Road in unincorporated Auburn. This is an area north of Dacula and east of Hog Mountain.

Whitfield was dead from “apparent gunshot wounds,” Doan said.

A passerby called 911 after seeing the man lying in the driveway of the residence.

There are no suspects at this time, Doan said.

No other information was released.
