Hamilton Mill Buffalo’s Raises Funds to Fight Cancer

The Dacula restaurant was one of 12 Buffalo's locations that raised more than $1,000 and surpassed their 2010 donations.

The was recently recognized for their efforts in making Buffalo’s second annual for the Winship Cancer Institution a success.

This year’s fundraiser generated more than $40,000, exceeding last year’s total by $5,000 and meeting the goal set for 2011. The Hamilton Mill Buffalo’s was one of 12 stores that raised more than $1,000 and also surpassed their 2010 donations.

According to a Buffalo’s press release, one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime in Georgia alone. Winship Cancer Institute, the beneficiary of this year’s fundraiser, is Georgia’s first and only National Cancer Institute designated cancer center.

“The support and involvement from the community has been exceptional. Employees and guests of the restaurant shared their personal stories of struggle with cancer and were happy to involve themselves in raising money and awareness for the cause. It is an honor for our organization to be a part of something so special,” said Buffalo’s Chief Operating Officer Shaun Curtis in a released statement.

Established in 1985, the first Buffalo’s Cafe opened its doors in Roswell, Ga. The company now has locations in Georgia, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana and abroad.
