
Monday is the deadline for filing state and federal income tax returns. To have your income tax return postmarked by the April 18 deadline, you will need to arrive at the by 5 p.m.
Dacula Postmaster Kathy Montgomery said the post office will keep its regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on tax day.
Taxpayers needing a little extra time may mail their returns at other nearby locations. Montgomery said the Lawrenceville North office, located at 1557 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville, will remain open until 7 p.m. and the Boggs Road Postal Store, located at 1605 Boggs Road in Duluth, will be open until midnight.

Typically, tax returns are due on April 15. This year, the deadline has been extended to April 18 in observation of Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia. The State of Georgia has also extended its filing deadline to April 18 to coincide with the federal due date.
