Last Day for Early Voting Is Nov. 1

Voting is underway in Gwinnett County and the City of Dacula.

The early voting period for the 2013 elections ends Friday, Nov. 1.

City of Dacula residents have only one issue to decideΒ - aΒ referendum on whether or not to allow Sunday sales of packaged distilled spirits.Β Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks, Councilman Gregory Reeves and Councilman Wendell Holcombe qualified with no opposition.

Before Gwinnett CountyΒ voters isΒ theΒ Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum. The three-year tax would generate an estimated $498 million to be used for transportation, public safety, parks and other projects.

Also on the ballot for Dacula area voters is the special election for State House 104.Β Teresa Cantrell,Β Chuck Efstration,Β Tim PuckettΒ andΒ Todd TysonΒ are seeking to fill the seatΒ vacated by Donna Sheldon.


Advance voting is beingΒ heldΒ at the Elections Office andΒ satellite locations including the Dacula Activity Building, located at 2735 Old Auburn Road in Dacula. Voting hours are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

On election day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, voters will go to their regular polling place.Β Election day voting hours are 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
